Procedures for Tattoo Removal Teenagers
You might want to think about procedures for tattoo
removal teenagers. Your teen could decide to get a
tattoo behind your back. Some teens do so as a matter of
self-expression while others may get tattoos when they become
members of peer groups. As most young adults already know
though, regretting getting a tattoo at an early age is common.
You might want to help your teen consider tattoo removal as
soon as possible. Here are the most common methods.
Laser Removal
Laser treatment is perhaps one of the most popular methods
even for teens. In this method, a laser beam is directed on the
tattooed area. The beam is taken in by the tattoos pigments
until they break. The body then naturally gets rid of the
broken pigments. The procedure may involve some slight pain but
it is generally non-invasive and presents low risks.
The problem with laser removal though is that it is an
expensive procedure. It also involves not just one but many
sessions. In some cases, tattoo removal may take months or even
years. This is why not every teen may complete the entire
procedure. Not all tattoo types can also be completely removed.
The quality of removal depends on such factors as age of
tattoo, depth of tattoo, pigments used and tattoo size. If your
teen would like to undergo laser treatment, be sure to prepare
a lot of money, time and patience.
Dermabrasion
This form of tattoo removal teenagers can be a bit harsh. In
this method, chemicals are applied on the skin. This is
followed by sanding or rubbing the skin using a machine to
remove skin layers. Naturally, this can result in skin injury,
irritation, bleeding and even permanent scarring. The worst
part is that it may not always be effective. Your teen could
end up with a disfigured tattoo or skin. This is because
expertly made tattoos go well below the upper surface of the
skin. That makes them nearly untouchable.
Surgical Procedure
This method is even more jarring than dermabrasion. As the
term suggests, it involves actual cutting through the skin.
There are many different methods used to cut out tattoos. The
most basic however simply involves making incisions until the
tattoo can be lifted and removed. Other methods may involve
pre-cutting procedures such as skin freezing or skin expansion.
Depending on the surgical method used, your teen may end up
with some scars.
Topical Applications
There are some products that claim to be able to help with
tattoo removal. These products can be used at home and applied
on the skin for a specific number of times. These products
contain chemicals that penetrate the skin and breakdown the
pigment. The broken pieces of the pigment will then naturally
move out of the body. Obviously though, these products have
varying rates of effectiveness. Factors that affect product
effectiveness include the components of the product, tattoo
depth, pigments used, tattoo age and size of the tattoo.
Let’s face it. Tattoo removal is not pleasant. The worst
part is that not every method can work 100% of the time on all
types of tattoos. When they do, some methods may leave
permanent scars that are unsightly. This is the reason why
teens should be discouraged to get tattoos.
The truth is that getting a tattoo is not really an evil
act. Deciding to get a tattoo however is a big decision and
responsibility. Teens should not be made to bear the
responsibility of carrying a tattoo yet because a lot of things
can still happen in their lives. The beliefs, attitudes and
attachments that pushed them to get tattoos can still change.
This change is what can make tattoo removal
teenagers necessary.
